Well..this timing seems a bit suspicious...or at least overly coincidental... - SDGuy - 10-03-2013

First this a few days ago:
"Iran breached the U.S. Navy’s unclassified computer network sometime during the past few weeks...Wide swathes of the Navy’s websites have been down or intermittent for the past week."

And now this, today:
"Mojtaba Ahmadi, who served as commander of the Cyber War Headquarters, was found dead in a wooded area near the town of Karaj, north-west of the capital, Tehran...found with two bullets in the heart..."

Also, coincidentally, the Navy networks/websites seem much peppier now than they did two days ago...hmmm...

Nice catch, FR. Although there will probably be obscene profits involved, I like this end to the article as indicative of a first step in actually maintaining a semblance of security.

I think assassination sets a bad precedent for us, very similar to torture. Now our cyber guys are in the same danger of being killed. "You hack us? We'll kill you." just doesn't seem right. Not excusing the other side, but I'm fairly certain we do the same thing to them.

Frankly, I don't think this is us assassinating these Iranians.

I have a lot of trouble reconciling my feelings about assassination with my normal set of morals, but I've come to think that assassination is maybe not such a bad way to go. Beats the heck out of invading a country and ruining it. Call me selfish and cold-hearted but I know personally I'd rather have a leader assassinated then have the country invaded. Yeah, this is a bad way to think, I know, but it does cross my mind quite often as a kind of preventative to open warfare.
