Page Plus people- anyone have a smart phone they're really happy with that's not an iPhone? - Black - 10-05-2013 I know I'm narrowing the response pool to almost nothing here. but my Palm is starting to do odd things and I need to be ready to move quickly... have spent some time on Howard forums but come away with less clarity each time (mostly confusion about the flash process, but also with which phones are compatible). Would like to be able to find something used not much more than $150... Had kind of decided on an iPhone 4s when prices on the 32 GB dropped below $200, but they've actually gone up since the 5s came out, so leaning heavily towards Android. Thanks. Where's the poll? ... My vote: No. ... I keep having to fix problems on my friends' Android phones. It's a PITA. They're cheap and the core of the GUI is barely out of the 1990s. The iPhone ecosystem sucks in many ways, especially under iOS 7, but it's worlds better than Android on every score except screen-size. Re: Page Plus people- anyone have a smart phone they're really happy with that's not an iPhone? - silvarios - 10-05-2013 Strongly disagree with Doc. This is the same FUD Mac users spread about Windows in the early days. "Windows is lipstick on the core of an old pig of an OS." Never mind the pile of poo at the core of classic Mac OS. Bad multi tasking, bad memory management, and all advances to the Mac OS were a big dish of spaghetti code that proved unsustainable past milking a slavishly devoted user base. And yes, I was happily a sheep for over a decade. Thank goodness for OS X! Flash forward to today. A good Android phone is as good and sometimes arguably better than an iPhone. I don't have any good suggestions for Verizon as I am a GSM guy at heart. I know some people who love their Droid RAZR. Not sure of Page Plus compatibility. Only 3G will work on PP. If all you're doing is making phone calls, that may be true. But then why do you bother with a smart phone? I thought the 4S came out when Apple first made nice-nice with Verizon, and that there is no compatible iPhone 4? Or are you talking about a Sprint iPhone 4?
