Another App like FocusLayer or Doodim? - karsen - 07-27-2006

This morning I came across an interesting application named 'Doodim' that is really useful, but not well implemented. Basically it dims every window not associated with the frontmost application. This helps newbie users understand which application is active, and helps de-clutter the workspace theoretically resulting in a more productive environment.

I searched and searched for something more polished and found both 'FocusLayer' and 'Zenzu'. FocusLayer seems even less polished than Doodim, and Zenzu seems to be something you have to activate manually (which is a PITA).

It'd be great if someone used Quartz Extreme to make an application that finished what Doodim and FocusLayer could not. Even to go so far as to make each layer of windows/applications a little less translucent, while the front most layer remains sharp and in focus.
