I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - mattkime - 11-14-2013 https://onlycoin.com/?referral=rAh5ScbD (supposedly i get a kickback if you sign up...but also i like the idea) Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - C(-)ris - 11-14-2013 Interesting. What do credit card companies think of this? Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - bazookaman - 11-14-2013 I like the idea too. Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - clay - 11-14-2013 that's a fantastic idea, IMHO. This sort of thing will become more and more common in the future. Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - cbelt3 - 11-14-2013 That's... interesting. Of course I see a HUGE market for the credit card scammers. It's like a credit card faking machine in a box. Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - tronnei - 11-14-2013 My American Express card is also my Costco membership card, so I'm guessing I'd still have to carry that one. Otherwise, neat idea. Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - (vikm) - 11-14-2013 That is very cool. I'm not sure I'm ballsy enough (certainly not without reading up on it more). First thing that come to mind is what happens if that button you use to select the card malfunctions or stops working altogether? I suppose you could just always leave your real cards in your car or whatever, but that seems to create other obvious concerns. I'm curious of the liability issues if some how others are able to make purchases using your info. I dig the concept, but my concerns may outweigh the coolness factor. It's cool that you're trying it and hope it goes well. Please review when you've used it. (I hope you get 10 people here to sign up so you can test this for free) Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - pinkoos - 11-14-2013 Another concern: what happens if your phone battery dies and the card loses connection to your phone? http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/11/the-clever-new-digital-wallet-that-will-never-ever-succeed/281504/ "Thus, Coin has the same problem that all digital wallets have: In those odd moments that you find yourself with a dead phone battery, it ceases to function. That might not happen so often, but think of the times it might, and how they’re precisely those moments you would most want your credit cards to function: Late at night, when you need to pay a cab, tow truck, restaurant bill, or whatever else you need to get you back to a place where you can charge your phone again." I think it addresses similar questioning. Like, I think it should still be ok for a designated period of time if I read correctly. They estimate it lasting approx 2yrs (battery) and for each one you need to buy it will cost you $100 after this initial buy. Seems a bit steep to me for the convenience, but I'm a cheapskate on some stuff. Re: I'm a sucker. I jumped in. All credit cards in one card. - hal - 11-14-2013 Ask me again in five years. I see too many potential problems right now. |
