Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - deckeda - 11-16-2013 My folks have a small, battery operated machine for checking blood pressure. The display is a large LCD but some of the "parts" that make up the LCD numbers are crapping out and not displaying. For those of you who have a machine at home, whaddya like and why? Thanks! Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - space-time - 11-16-2013 I bought 3 of these, one for us, one for my parents and one for her parents. It just works. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NY6JXA/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1384643070&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - zeppo2 - 11-16-2013 I got a Withings blood pressure cuff. It plugs into my iPhone and tracks my blood pressure via an app. I love being able to bring a chart to the doctor's office so he can see how the bp has tracked at various times during the day, over a long period of time. Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - graylocks - 11-16-2013 i had one similar to this for years. my doctor has been fine with the data i've presented to her. ![]() Omron 5 Series Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - fmgtech - 11-16-2013 I just bought the Omron Series 10 Model BP785. Just got it from Amazon so haven't tried it yet. Supposed to be one of the best ones. Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - fauch - 11-17-2013 Taking my blood pressure raises my blood pressure too much..... Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - GGD - 11-17-2013 I've been using a very basic A&D LifeSource UA-702 monitor that was Free after Rebate from Fry's on Black Friday in 2003. I use it every day, still works fine. I'm expecting it to fail at some point, the rubber bulb to pump it up is wearing through where my thumb presses. Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - Grateful11 - 11-17-2013 My wife checks anyone that wants theirs checked the old fashion way with a manual cuff Sphygmomanometer. Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - Dennis S - 11-17-2013 I had read that the ones that wrap around your wrist were unreliable. My mom got one, thinking "how bad can it be?" Well, pretty bad. She thought she had a "spell" with her blood pressure because of some high readings. I tried it out over a couple of days and the readings were all over the place while my readings at the doctor's office are very consistent. So, the thing is worthless. So, I am not a fan of the wrist-type ones. Re: Anything new in home blood pressure machines? - deckeda - 11-17-2013 Some good ideas here, thanks! |
