anyone have experience with these devices? I'm trying to trace some issues with our '01 Saab 9.5.
Seems like one is very popular.
I'd like to stream codes as I drive for a few days in hopes of being able to give the mechanic a better view to troubleshoot.
Perhaps finally get my engine and tran lights to shut off for more than a week or two.

Yes, they work well enough. I have a bluetooth one that I use with Torque (android). I can find the exact model in my amazon history if you're interested.
You won't find an iOS app that works with them though.

I bought one of those Cheap Chinese gizmos a few years ago. Torque is an excellent app, and it keeps track of all kinds of interesting facts. In fact last night I was using it on my HP Touchpad (running Android), with the 'HUD' display up, which gave me a real time set of displays projected on the windscreen. It's kind of techno-cool.
They quality of the devices is spotty, and you may have to fuss with the Bluetooth settings to get it to work consistently. But it's not bad for the price.

I have one and use with some regularity. In fact, I'll be using it today again to track a pesky code on one car. It cleared a code thrown by another car after sitting for a long while. The code has not returned, so that is good. When a code returns, of course, you should deal with the source of the problem (the current issue with the first car).
You will have some futzing to do with syncing the device to the app. Mine is persnickety and I have to re-learn the secret handshake nearly every time I use it. The passcode, for instance, is 6789, I believe, instead of 0000 or 1234.

Beware who you buy it from Amazon. I purchased one from Obdwiz on Amazon Marketplace. The version I bought (wifi) didn't work with DashCommand on my iPhone. After a few weeks of getting the run around from the seller, I finally got a refund.

I have one. Also use it with Torque for with a Samsung Tab. Definitely wot he the experiment if you already have an android.
I now have Automatic for iOS. Less techy - more Mac like. Tells you the summary and doesn't let you deep dive into the details.
