When a Mini is not enough and a Pro is too much... - Catzilla - 01-22-2014

I'm thinking of upgrading my current 2009 Mini and original 23" ACD. I use it as a Plex server, ripping DVD's, iMovie, iPhoto, and surfing. I would also like to try some gaming. I'm thinking i7. I'm not thrilled with the intergrated graphics of the Mini. I have found "open box" 27" i7 iMacs (current model) for around $1800 delivered. I have no problem with open box or refurb, none of my macs for the last 10 years or so have been "new" The only thing I will miss on an iMac is FW, but I can get an adapter. Any thoughts?

When a Mini is not enough and a Pro is too much...

... the answer is a Hackintosh.

USB 3 is waaaaay faster than FW anything.

Replace your FW drives with USB 3...

I'll take it if you don't want it!

If you buy a refurb from anyone besides Apple, make sure you get the full factory warranty.

Good advice!

Also remember, places like BestBuy/Cowboom believe this:

equals "factory refurbishing" Confusedmiley-shocked003:
