Rubin "Hurricane" Carter died on April 20, 2014, in Toronto after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 76
Carter's was a promising Middleweight boxer who was wrongfully convicted for murder and later exonerated after spending 20 years in prison. His life was the basis of the motion picture "The Hurricane"
