QR code generators - Mr Downtown - 04-28-2014

What do we like these days for generating QR codes?

I've used Google in the past. I'd like to be able to get a vector (PDF, SVG, etc.) version rather than just a PNG, but I don't want to use a sketchy site that will take users to an intermediate ad page or something.

Not sure if you have a smartphone -- I use redlaser on my iPhone. easy as pie. type in url, hit email, done.

Not sure that I have seen one generate vector based files -- kind of a waste anyway since they are just a bitmap?

Google will hunt you down and pound you into submission.

Try these instead:

If you don't mind an iPhone/iPad app, I like QRafter....

Well, I don't have a smartphone myself. I signed up for qr-code-generator.com—though I was a little taken aback when it required me to give my email and even phone number.

Does this one go straight to the Chicago Landmarks page?

This will be fairly large on a wall display, but one you can walk right up to. My worry about a PNG is that there might be some anti-aliasing or something else that makes it look fuzzy.

Yes it does.

Works for me , albeit a bit slow loading.

I'm using http://qrcode.littleidiot.be lately.
First because I like the URL.
And second because I've been doing company business cards and use the .eps versions so I can scale as needed in InDesign.

The first link I provided does not require any registration at all and gives you many export choices including SVG and EPS.

You can lead a horse to water…

I'll have to agree with AA here. I use http://goqr.me/ A LOT.
