iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - davemchine - 04-29-2014 My phone has an eligible serial number and I have been having problems with the button for about a week. Since my closest store is over 120 miles away I've arranged for the mail in option but that leaves me without a phone for at least a week. Can I remove the SIM from my phone and use another phone during that time? I'm with verizon. Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - Carm - 04-29-2014 The SIM swap should work. Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - rgG - 04-29-2014 You would have to do an ESN change with your iPhone and another compatible Verizon CDMA phone. The SIM swap only works with GSM phones. Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - Carm - 04-29-2014 My bad. What Rhonda said. Got them cornfused Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - rgG - 04-29-2014 Carm wrote: Too much birthday cake. She hasn't become physically attached to it yet. I wonder if I can forward all my calls to it? Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - Carm - 04-29-2014 Yes Rhonda. Call forward verizon. http://m-support.verizonwireless.com/mobl/features.kb_17268.tp_2.html Re: iphone 5 sleep/wake issue - silvarios - 04-29-2014 rgG wrote: I thought Verizon LTE used SIM cards and the cards could be swapped with other Verizon LTE phones? No? To the OP, If you have another LTE Verizon phone, try swapping SIM cards and see what happens. It should work. You will however need to disable iMessages or it will screw everything up (assuming the new phone isn't an iPhone). Verizon definitely used to allow LTE sim swapping, but admittedly, I haven't checked into the current state of affairs in 2014. Apparently you can swap the SIM, but only if you are putting it in another Verizon LTE device. My bad. I assumed that Dave probably had an older "spare" phone lying around that would not be a 4G device. I also thought the SIM was locked to the device, but apparently it isn't.
