HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - Mr645 - 04-30-2014 I need to replace my Galaxy S2 and I have not been thrilled with it over the past 2 years. It's been replaced 3 times under warranty and it still crashes about once a day. I need to stick with the Android platform due to apps not available on other systems. These 2 seem to be the top choices. I also saw the HTC One Mini which I like due to the smaller size, but the rep for AT&T says it's not worth getting an older phone. Same for the Galaxy S4 active, rep says it's a slow processor. I use the phone for GPS tracking on a bike so the water resistance of the 4 Active would be a nice feature. Other than that, I talk, text, FB, Strava, web surf and that's about it Cost is not really an issue, I don't really care about photos, videos, speakers (My S2 is fine for this) Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - IronMac - 04-30-2014 I don't see what you are missing if you move to the iOS platform. I've used Strava for my biking purposes on the iPhone 4S. Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - Mr645 - 04-30-2014 I have two apps for work that are only on the android system. They interface over bluetooth to cars for programming and diagnosing via OBD2. iOS does not allow for this function, Apple will not approve any apps that use bluetooth in this way. Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - sekker - 04-30-2014 I'd probably get a Sony. The Verge has lots of data. http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/16/5621206/htc-one-sony-xperia-z2-galaxy-s5-in-pictures HTC has a great camera, too, tho I think the iP5S is better than all but perhaps the old Nokia super cameras. Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - vision63 - 04-30-2014 The Boomsound speakers on the M8 are the bomb. I am currently using Samsungs and it's ridiculous that there's no good way to get files back and forth except taking the SD card out and putting it in a reader. Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - Mr645 - 04-30-2014 With my S2, I just connect it to my Mac wit hUSB and open the Android File Transfer app and the phone shows up like a drive and I can navigate, drag and drop things etc. Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - SDGuy - 04-30-2014 Mr645 wrote: my guess is a misbehaving 3rd party app is likely at fault - I used to have the same sort of problem, which went away after purging a few apps. The not-so-fun part was figuring out which ones were responsible Re: HTC One M8 or Galaxy S5 - Black - 04-30-2014 Mr645 wrote:Would be ironic if that was what was responsible for your crashes.
