I wonder what would have happened if he ignored the Ukrainian Jets, would they shoot him down? Poles and Hungarians view it differently, they see an opportunity. Slovaks and Byelorussians have a greater cultural affinity towards Russia so they are more ambivalent. So are the Southern Europeans. Romania, although I have contacts there dating back to Caucescu days, is the only country in Central Europe I did not deal with on this trip.... |
