She and I both don't like it.

You simply don't use it. There's no getting out of it. It's your profile.

Yeah, just ignore it. I ignore mine (along with Linkedin, Facebook and whatever else is popular these days.

So true. I actually have Google+ blocked on my hosted accounts. Apparently Hangouts doesn't work with group chats because of it. Oh well.

I refused to sign up for it. I just need gmail.

That means you actually have it, you just don't know it. It's actually not bad. They make it easy to keep your worlds separate. It's a great way to follow bands and artists. It's a great sharing platform for photographers. Then there's Hangouts which is just like "Messages" except everybody can get them, not just people Apple devices.

Re: Getting out of Google + - silvarios - 05-28-2014

Google+ is perfectly acceptable as a social platform, in my opinion, my problem is the increased desire for Google to opt everyone into all of their services.

Put it this way, I don't mind the single login for Google services (remember when you had a YouTube account, Gmail account, etc.) and I don't even mind Google+ being better integrated, to a point. However, let me the user decided which features I want and allow each to be enabled or disabled as necessary. Might seem strange, but maybe I want to post YouTube videos, follow people on Google+, but not have Gmail. Maybe I just want YouTube. Maybe I want Gmail and YouTbe.
