I bought the Demo pair right from the Sony Rep, just after he had made the Rounds. They might be the first pair sold in the US. I think that I paid $150.
These Sonys are, by far, my favorite headphones, and I own a bunch. For casual listening, I still like Sennheisers, but when I get serious, the Sonys make my ears sweat, in both senses of the word.

One of several makers who have been making headphones for audiophiles for decades. B-D has also made some fine microphones as well. You won't see Beats selling mics like Sennheiser also does; they wouldn't understand the connection.
In recent years, new companies have sprung up due to the headphone resurgence. See for example, Audeze. Also, old-school companies like Phillips and PSB/NAD have realized they can also make quality 'phones that don't cost a zillion dollars.

You can type just fine. You just can't curse. It's against those fuzzy rules.
What you were trying to say was:

The trick is making the "N" as black as the faceplates on old NAD equipment.
Of course, other colors are available: NAD, NAD, NAD...

what do you guys think of Sony MDR V300?
I read someone's glowing review of the Grado GR10, then I saw the price.
I want an over-the-ear, comfortable pair of 'phones I can listen to albums from my component stereo on.
It would be nice to have a longer cable so I can move about a small room.
The Monoprice cheapos are pretty good, sound-wise, but they get hot after 20 minutes or so.
