Bluetooth headphones - DavidS - 06-06-2014
I'm looking to buy a pair of bluetooth headphones to use while I exercise. They do not have to be audiophile quality, as I'll be running/working out while wearing them. I'd prefer a mic/control buttons, but it is not a requirement.
I do not like the kind with the "bar" that goes around the back of your neck. I tried the Sony ones a couple years ago and did not find them comfortable.

Try them on first if possible. I have found behind the ear style to not always fit comfortably.

Funny timing. One of the lines I rep has an agreement with JBL and I'm charging a pair of J46BT right now. Reviews on JBL's website seem to be mixed. Will let you know my opinion once I get a chance to use them.

I can't stand the headphones that wrap around your ear with rigid plastic, find them so painful.
I have this: Sony SBH50 They work pretty great, though I do have to unpair/pair every few months.

I haven't found earbuds that stay in place in any activity beyond walking, with two exceptions.
One is a set of Shure earbuds with memory foam tips. These really stay in place. The problem is the are too effective at blocking sound. The second is a cheap pair of buds that have a behind the ear plastic holder. They probably could get annoying after awhile, but I'm not training for a triathlon.
Grim, do those earphones use a standard 3.5mm earphone jack? If so, that must might replace my LG-700.

Yes, standard 3.5mm, the downside to using your own is that you'll usually end up with an extra 2-5 feet of cable dangling around, pulling on the bluetooth module.
If I remember right, the SBH50 earphones come with 3 sets of different sized earplastics, you should be able to find a fit. I personally wrap the cable up and around my ear, never have trouble with them popping out. I used to have the predecessor to the SBH50, the MW600, which used a similar design. The earphone rubber was so snug that I would sometimes pull the headphone out and the rubber would stick in my ear. That was a bit scary the first time it happened. The SBH50 has a bit more grip between the earphone drivers and the rubbers.
