Hey, I know! Instead of trying to sneak anti-Chinese-government propaganda past the country's Internet filters, let's start charging for it. China will immediately start encouraging trade in pirated copies.

I think you're on to something. What if, instead of DRM, the media companies started "hiding" copies of various subversive documents (such as the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, John Stuart Mill's On Liberty, etc.) in movies and music.

Like jobs, our attempts to offshore democracy have led to its loss at home. Why do we have to hide the Bill of Rights? Why not just give it to them? We're not using it anymore anyway.
