August 27, 1949, a violent white mob prevented an outdoor concert headlined by Paul Robeson from taking place near Peekskill, New York. (The concert was held eight days later.)

Sorta like Woodstock if the K-K-K were parking attendants.

Awww, c'mon SteveG, surely you can see that this wasn't about race at all - they were just strong anti-Communist red-blooded American patriots who didn't want that damn Pinko stinking up their town with his 'people's music.'
