Guitarists: need suggestions for most accurate Beatles guitar chord fake book - JoeM - 09-02-2014 I grew up as a kid learning to play guitar by learning Beatles songs and songs of other artists in the 60s. Seeing this video of Paul doing For No One the other day http://youtu.be/uXSlacCyN50 got me thinking I'd like to relearn similar Beatles songs for fun and remembering a couple of great fake books I had back then. One was the Sgt Pepper song book from 1967 and later a white covered fake book of all their songs from the 70s. What I remember was how good the guitar chords were in those books. Many other sheet music versions in those times had chords that were quite off. I've found the Sgt Peppers book on eBay but would like to find something with all their tunes and with very accurate chord diagrams and key signatures. I've looked at The Beatles Complete Chord Book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0634022296/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=0WCJ0PVKTP3EXJDKZD4J&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200422&pf_rd_i=507846 Which looks pretty good but I'd prefer more of a simple lead sheet/fake book type of transcription. Do any guitarists here have anything they really like that and fits that bill? TIA Re: Guitarists: need suggestions for most accurate Beatles guitar chord fake book - Bo - 09-02-2014 My son has the book that you referenced (The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook) and likes it a lot! He's a young player but loves the Beatles and it has allowed him to get into their songs rather quickly. The book is pretty much what the Look Inside feature on Amazon shows. There's one intro page about shapes, capo, tuning and muting & finger picking. Then a second page about relative tuning and reading chord boxes. Other than that, it's just the songs. I myself don't play so can't offer much more than what his experience with it has been. Re: Guitarists: need suggestions for most accurate Beatles guitar chord fake book - rz - 09-02-2014 This isn't a "fake book", and is probably overkill for what you're looking for, but this is what I have: http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Complete-Scores/dp/0793518326/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1409662177&sr=1-1&keywords=beatles+complete+scores Re: Guitarists: need suggestions for most accurate Beatles guitar chord fake book - JoeM - 09-02-2014 rz wrote:Yes, I checked it out but as you mentioned not really what I'm looking to find for my simple needs. Thanks all the same.
