Good source for Black & Decker replacement part? - Uncle Wig - 09-02-2014

I have a B&D hand sander and I need a replacement dust bag. The part number is 387111-00. (It's frustrating that they don't carry these at Home Depot where I purchased the tool.)

Any recommendations for a good online source?

1800toolrepair.com has 'em but the also seem to have a lot of complaints. Maybe ereplacementparts.com? There's at least one seller on Amazon that has them for about twice as much.

scour ebay and craigslist for a used one.

I've been trying to get a replacement plastic guard for my weed trimmer. OEM replacement part costs almost as much as buying a whole new trimmer. In some cases, it's cheaper to buy something new than to find a replacement part.

A couple of years ago, I bought a 10x20 outdoor canopy. I figure that in a few years, the top will probably need to be replaced. Went to the manufacturer's website, and they wanted $89 for a replacement top. I originally paid $99 for the whole thing. Then I found the whole canopy on sale at Pep Boys of all places for $69. So I bought two, just so I can have two replacement tops.

Thanks, but in this case I don't think used is the way to go. The one that came with the sander just started falling apart after a while. The highest price is about $11, which seems high for a tool that sells for less than $30, but I'd rather spend a bit more and not deal with a questionable online seller.

Here's the sander:

Maybe something like this? http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW7053-Universal-Dust-Miter/dp/B00002231J/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1409688740&sr=8-3&keywords=dust+bag

Alternately, trim off the bag, disassemble, get some bag material and make your own for a couple of bucks with a hose clamp?

Agree with ereplacementsparts. They are in Salt Lake and shipping to SoCal made it 5ยข more than Prime. Got a motor for a Makita drill OEM for a very reasonable price.

I got a replacement part for a Black & Decker Jig Saw from DeWalt ServiceNET before:

EDIT:

Found it! $4.63 + Shipping http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Parts/Search?searchedNumber=387111-00

My order was almost 9 years ago, and it's impressive that they are still around, so I guess that is a recommendation.

Thanks - like a lot of these other sites, the shipping more than wipes out the lower price. I ordered two from an Ebay seller.
