10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - silvarios - 10-17-2014 2007 MacBook. Won't sleep if left idle. Will sleep if you close lid or select sleep manually. No Flash. No Java. All updates current, excepting Bash update. List of user installed software: Opera VoodooPad Lite Chuzzle Deluxe Adium Carbon Copy Cloner VueScan Doesn't seem to matter if apps are running or not. Was a clean installation of Lion. Dragged over media manually. Only brought over a few items from old user library. All manual drag and drop replace. Seems to be a problem when on charger or battery. Tried tweaking Energy Saver Preferences. No help. No external peripherals connected. WiFi enabled. Bluetooth off. Nothing check in Sharing preferences. No connected servers. Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - M>B> - 10-17-2014 Possible help... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3190738?start=60&tstart=0 Good luck!!! Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - silvarios - 10-17-2014 I saw that link while searching the interwebs. Also this one, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3594803?start=0&tstart=0 Saw a reference to Paragon file system driver in your link. Which perked my ears until I realized I haven't bothered to install the Paragon EXT driver yet. Oh well. I'll keep looking. Suppose, I should try an SMC reset or safe boot. Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - C(-)ris - 10-17-2014 Format and repartion the hard drive, reinstall the OS and then install ABSOLUTELY nothing on it and see if you still have the issue. Edit: Possible bluging battery producing trackpad input preventing sleep? Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - Speedy - 10-17-2014 Easier to install an OS on an external and boot from it. This thing isn't worth another three hours of my time. Instead I tested each installed app one by one. I tested from most used app to least. Seems like if Opera is open, the computer won't sleep. Took 15 minutes to test since Opera was the first app tested. I quit Opera, logged out, logged back in, and then sleep worked. Weird, right? Do appreciate the tip. The battery has the tiniest of bulges and will be getting eCycled very soon. Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - silvarios - 10-17-2014 Speedy wrote: True. That I would have tried. Thanks for the suggestion. Re: 10.7 MacBook won't sleep after idle - silvarios - 10-19-2014 Still keeping an eye out, seems like Opera was mucking up sleep. Would have thought a particular website, but can't find the exact pattern. I had over a dozen tabs open in Safari, several different websites and idle sleep worked normally. Launch Opera and sleep breaks. |
