Great reunion video for fans of 'The Wire' - miK. - 10-18-2014

They got a lot of The Wire actors together for a mini reunion recently and filmed it.
It's long (hour and a half) but is really cool. They are reportedly remastering the show
and it is supposed to return to HBO in HD at some point.

p.s. David Simon for President.

That was a great show.

I look forward to seeing it again, in HD.

Jamie Hector (Marlo) is currently a recurring character on Person of Interest, type cast.

In HD, but still 4x3 aspect ratio? Or did they actually shoot in 16x9? I remember seeing something about the choice to broadcast in 4x3, to give it more of a "news" type of feel.

They shot in 4x3. I guess the HD format is still unknown at this point.
The episodes were supposed to have aired in September, but it's been delayed.

Yes, HBO is re-airing 'The Wire' and this time it's in high-definition

"Creator David Simon thinks that 4x3 feels more like real life and real television and not like a movie..."

The subway scene will live in memory for all time. I loved the $eries, (get that $) wife only remembers that episode and moment (it was stunning). If indeed HBO brings it back they'll be hard pressed to equal the original. Despite the fact they have the means, expertise and ability to sell the series, it won't be as unique as the original, few reprisals are.

On the other hand it may cause a whole new generation to look at Baltimore as something other than a place professionals play baseball and football and get payed to lose. :wall:

The subway scene was actually on Homicide: Life on the Street... another GREAT show, which was co-produced
by David Simon and based on his book. Andre Braugher as Frank Pembleton owned that show. The interrogation
scenes in "the box" were pretty amazing. It's kind of weird to see him doing comedy on Brooklyn Nine-Nine now.
