Just finished replacing glass on Samsung S4 mini - mikebw - 10-20-2014
Probably took over 3 hours over the course of the day. My wife (her phone) dropped it last week and totally shattered the glass, but the LCD was fine so we ordered a kit for $20 to replace just the glass. VERY tedious and time consuming. If I hadn't many years experience doing computer repair and well refined fine motor skills it would have been a disaster. It all works now though and I'm glad I did it.

did you have to use UV glue? not familiar with Samsung but on some iPhones I think the glass was attached to LCD with UV Adhesive. I use these adhesives at work and I have experience with this stuff, but for home users I think it is difficult to cure it properly.

I've replaced the glass on a couple of iPhones and found it to be a generally unpleasant experience.

I keep coming across cracked GS3s for sale and wondering how hard it would be to replace the glass. They trend about $40 below uncracked in price so not sure it's worth it....

Dude on Ogden will replace the glass for $60 bux. There are cheaper people too. If that's worth it then...

Yeah, I notice those Chicago streets are really lengthy. I've done some film work there and was impressed that MIlwaukee went waaaay up into the northern Suburbs.

haha, I did follow it on the map. Cicero and Western. Western is "really" long. I had a Rainbow Cone.

No glue. Here is the kit- http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-including-Tweezers-ECO-FUSED-Microfiber/dp/B00HYRSJ9G/
After you remove the broken glass and adhesive from the LCD you put some strips of 2mm tape around the edges, then press on the new glass. If the broken glass had not been in so many pieces I think it would have been a lot easier to do.
