OT and off the wall post - samintx - 08-20-2006

I was surfing my Satellite the other day and stopped when I found one of the programs mentioned in this article---with unbelief. Reality shows and game theme shows have long since hit a new low. How far will people Jerry Springer themselves for a free something or 5 minutes of "see me on TV"?

Has nothing to do with Jerry Springer.
The show you mention is a product of WE, "Women's Entertainment" television, the channel for women, by women. Same folks that brought you "BrideZilla".
Please don't blame this on men, Oprah started the type of show that Jerry Springer gets blamed for, it was to drag women away from the Phil Donahue show.

There's only one way to stop these shows ... STOP WATCHING THEM.

That is the reason that the WE Channel started broadcasting this format in the first place, no one was watching the "Touchy Feely" shows they were broadcasting at first, just like the Oxygen! channel changed formats because of zero viewership. They also used to be pay channels, they are free now.

Buddy of mine once said, "Women don't want their own channel, they just want to complain that they don't have their own channel!". She was so right.
