Assuming equal price, is one better than the other? I've been using some digital scales from Wal-Mart (I know, I know) that vary 10 pounds, depending on where you step. I want something reasonably accurate without costing a lot.

I have yet to see a digital scale in a gym or a doctors office. That says a lot. However, I don't know if there is going to be a diffrence between a digital or an analog that you buy from Walmart.

That will happen with any scale, Digital, or Analog.
Even the beam scales at the doctors office. You have to step right in the center, try stepping at the edge of the beam scale, you'll slam that scale skyward!

My doctor's office uses digital. That should tell you something. It's the one Subway Jared's Dad works at. That should tell you something.
