Boys, this might be a RYF deal - 4K monitor, $299 - GuyGene - 12-01-2014

Here is a link that mentions it:

It's only a 30hz monitor, so maybe not a GREAT deal, but it's not expensive. Now, I ain't much on Dell, and Microsoft, but, hey, let's don't do ye olde cutting off of nose mess.

Most of the 28" displays are older TN tech while the 31" are closer to IPS.

I would also say to wait for a model that has HDMI 2.0, but it will likely be two more years before. Apple stats supporting that standard (cough*USB3.0*COUGH).

I think there's some reviews on Newegg for it... not very good. A lot of lag. Someone else had it for that price a couple days ago.

IMHO, 2560 monitors are the sweet spot right now - work fine with current Apple hardware, IPS and matte screen options, and are now under $500. I've posted one from Monoprice that's $300.

I am going to wait another generation of Apple hardware before investing in 4k.

Yeah, after checking it out a bit more, I'll wait too.
