Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - chopper - 01-08-2015 I have several hundred old car racing decals, all the same decal. Boxes of them. I'd like to start selling them on eBay. My first idea is to sell them for $3 for a pair with free shipping (first class mail) but in looking at the existing stickers on eBay, most of them are $6 or more. My plan was to sell at a fixed price. Is there a "sweet spot" for ebay sales in terms of price if you have a ga-zillion of them so as to minimize fees, etc? I'm wondering if the existing ebay sellers have seen that trying to sell at $3 a pair with shipping isn't worth it in terms of fees, etc. Here is a sticker sort of similar to the ones I have ... Link to ebay auction Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - hal - 01-08-2015 Last I checked, $9.99 would have been the optimum price on something under $10 for fee/profit ratio, but that was a long time ago. Perhaps have one listing @ $6 and another selling 2 for $9.99. ??? Can't believe there is a demand for these... Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - Paul F. - 01-08-2015 Been a while since I sold anything in "bulk", but the "Dutch Auction" used to be the best way (for me, anyway). Put 'em up in lots of 10? That way if there is more demand, the price will get driven up. Of course, as I said, been a long time since I sold anything using the dutch auction, so I don't know if it still works the same or if eBay "Improved" it. Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - hal - 01-08-2015 Dutch auctions are LONG gone from ebay. Too many didn't understand how they worked. used to get GREAT deals from those people... Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - mrbigstuff - 01-08-2015 I wondered what happened to the Dutch auction category. However, what p*sses me off about the lack of policing of listings is the way most sellers present something and show a bunch of the item but list in fine print that it is only for a single piece. Not saying this applies to you, it's just a general rant about ebay and the complete lack of enforcement for fraud on there now. Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - space-time - 01-09-2015 if you sell them for $3 a pair, how can you make money? what is left after eBay, Paypal, USPS + envelope? Charge $5 or $5.50 with free shipping. Re: Selling A Lot of a Something, For A Low Price On Ebay Question - Carm - 01-10-2015 Are your stickers reproductions also? Also agree with $5.50 and free shipping. |
