NO! Not again! My internal HD is FAILING - Jerry® - 03-05-2015

I had my 2009 iMac's internal drive replaced through an Apple Replacement Program about 3-4 years ago? because the internal HDD was failing. A support tech came to my house and replaced it. Now, after sending a copy error report to the makers of SUPERDUPER! they inform me my HDD is failing:

NOW what am I gonna do?!!?!?

Jeebus. Do you ever shut that thing down? That is a massive amount of hours on the drive. That is 2.5 YEARS of constant spinning. Not surprised it failed. There is a lot of heat inside an iMac.

I'd replace the internal drive with your SSD.

It's DEFINITELY a sign - put the SSD inside that bad boy.

I have a 1TB internal drive and a 120GB ext. boot SSD drive. Can I install a 2TB internal drive in my model iMac (late 2009)?

Here's my setup:

120GB external SSD boot drive
1 TB SATA internal drive (of which I have a clone)

Pretty sure you could put both an SSD and a 2TB drive into that iMac - remove the optical and use an external. You could even make it a BR optical, thus upgrading.
