LED Lights - Energetic Lighting anyone? (possible RYF) - Ombligo - 03-26-2015 Amazon has Energetic Lighting LED bulbs on sale ($5/bulb), but I have never heard of the brand. I've used Cree, but the price on these is pretty good.. anyone familiar with them? Re: LED Lights - Energetic Lighting anyone? (possible RYF) - Speedy - 03-26-2015 4 1/2 stars. http://www.amazon.com/Energetic-Lighting-ELY09-EAS-VB-6-A19-Non-Dimmable/dp/B00OPAH0JK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427367121&sr=8-1&keywords=Energetic+Lighting+LED+bulbs Re: LED Lights - Energetic Lighting anyone? (possible RYF) - sekker - 03-26-2015 Easy returns via Anazon. Might be worth the risk if you are looking for bulbs. Re: LED Lights - Energetic Lighting anyone? (possible RYF) - Ombligo - 03-26-2015 All the one and star reviews involve the same two issues - there is a 1/2-1 second delay and lights that burn out in a few weeks. I've I've had Cree burn out - it happens. When it does, people complain because these bulbs cost more than cheap incandescents or CFL's. I'm more concerned with the delay, which may be a constant annoyance. just need to balance that with the cost savings (it helps that I'm buying for my son's house, not mine) Re: LED Lights - Energetic Lighting anyone? (possible RYF) - Robert M - 03-26-2015 Omb, I've had a particular type of Feit bulb burn out. The replacements burned out quickly. Feit replaced them under warranty but I have to go through the hassel and expense of sending the bulb back to them. Once or twice, I'll do but it's happen far more often in less than three years. I'd switch to a different bulb except the Feit is the only one with the proper size, shape, color and lumen output. The other thing I've noticed is the overall longevity of LED and CFL bulbs is overrated. They definitely don't last as long as the warranties imply. In the case of LEDs, replacement at the owner's cost can be expensive. Even replacement via warranty can be expensive if the manufacturer requires the bulb be returned to them. I've had more LEDs than incandescent and CFLs combined burn out in my new apartment. One was a flood bulb and the others were the FEIT model I mentioned earlier in the post. To everyone else, when looking at the reviews be sure to differentiate the standard model from the dimmable model. The stnadard model may have few poor reviews than the dimmable version. Amazon doesn't make it particularly easy to make the difference readily acessible. Robert |
