"Microsoft enables Wi-Fi Sense by default on Windows 10, but it doesn't share your networks by default. You have to actively choose to share your Wi-Fi network by clicking a box that says "Share network with my contacts" when logging in.
When you share your network, all of your Facebook (FB, Tech30) friends as well as your Skype and Outlook.com contacts will be able to automatically log onto your Wi-Fi network when their Windows 10 PCs are in range. With Wi-Fi Sense, they don't need to enter a password to log on (if they have a Mac, iPhone or Android device, you'll still have to give up your password).

You are only sharing with your "friends". Nothing bad has ever come from sharing things with your friends.
FWIW, I read about this yesteday, I think it could be a good thing. I like how you dont have to give anyone your actual password. but maybe if there was a way to have it only share with people you choose to share it with?

Yeah, there are a few facepalms over some new "features" in W10. I almost installed it back in Feb., but decided to wait the obligatory month after the GM was released.

Yep... exactly why people freaked out over 'sharing' FB and Linkedin and such with their contacts. Don't DO it.
Someone comes IN my house I *might* tell them my wifi password. I might not. It's basic goldarned security 101. The corporate world should be having a HUGE conniption about this. You want the wifi password her at work ? It's easier to get access to the White House.

Wouldn't this feature be disabled with a policy, like other settings on the computer?

Johnny Lately to this post. Just upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro to 10 Pro. Has this silly Wifi password sharing feature been "fixed' yet?
