Apple Pei - RAMd®d - 08-08-2015 Apple Pay Now Available to Diners at Pei Wei® Fast-casual restaurant Pei Wei now offers diners access to Apple Pay, which is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay. The restaurant, known for its made-to-order, Asian-inspired menu, now accepts Apple Pay in all of its nearly 200 locations for customers using iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch. http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20150805005295/en/Apple-Pay-Diners-Pei-Wei® Has anybody ever dined at Pei Wei? I'm not known for my epicurean palate, having enjoyed McDonald's and even Panda Express, on occasion. I do enjoy Chinese food and have been to a couple of great restaurants in Oakland. The closest Pei Wei looks to be in Folsom, CA. That's a little over two casual hours from me, but it could be an excuse for a bike ride. I'm easy like that. I do that for Chik-Fil-A once in a while. Re: Apple Pei - richorlin - 08-08-2015 Pei Wei is owned by PF Chang. It's not "fast food" but more what they are now calling "fast casual". Pretty good, at reasonable prices. I like their spicy salmon sushi and the orange chicken is pretty good. It's a downscale PF Chang. Re: Apple Pei - silvarios - 08-08-2015 Never eaten there, but have eaten at PF Chang. Not my favorite food, but still good to see more adoption of NFC for payments. Thanks for the info RAM. Re: Apple Pei - GeneL - 08-08-2015 The original P.F. Chang's was located here in Laguna Beach. He did an amazing job of preparing familiar dishes in a new and unusually imaginative way. Unfortunately, what made his dishes wonderful did not translate over to the scale of a restaurant chain. We ate at their location in Fashion Island and we're so disappointed that we haven't gone back. As the saying goes, YMMV! I don't like PF Chang, but I like Pei Wei for the once-a-month lunch I have with a friend. They let us sit there for two or three hours without once giving us the stink-eye. Re: Apple Pei - RAMd®d - 08-08-2015 Both, PF Chang and PeiWei have as much common with Chinese food as Taco Bell with Smith & Wollensky Hm, I'm only familiar with one S&W, and it has nothing to do with food. But I take your meaning. I seldom go to Taco Bell or Chevy's, but once in a great while, even they hit the spot. Or get reasonably close.
