Generator electrical wiring question - wowzer - 08-08-2015
I have a generator that i want to run 220V 30 amp from a remote location to my house. It is about 70 ft. I have 10gauge 3 wires from my house to this remote site.
I also have a grounding wire at that site from a subpanel which controls my pool pumps.
Could i lay the 3 wires from that remote site to my house and connect a bare copper wire to the grounding rod at the second site and a separate grounding wire from my home to the grounding wire just outside my house?
I hope that i am making sense...in effect I want to connect the bare grounds of a 4 prong plug into the ground at separate locations. Is that allowed according to code?

If I understand you correctly, yes, you could connect to a properly installed ground rod in the second location. If the run is via 10 gauge wire, use 10 gauge wire to safely ground your second location.

Is the remote location ground bonded back to the main house ground?
It is my understanding that it does.

Not 100% sure. It looks like there may be grounds at the remote site too. It has been there for a long time, and was installed according to code back then
