1/3 the throughput of Apple SSDs in the MacBook Pros. They're still very fast at 450-750 MB/s and you can install them after purchase so that tradeoff isn't too bad.

Do these newer Apple SSDs slow down as they fill up past 75%? If so, even these new ones are likely faster than Apple OEMs once they are installed since they will have added scratch space.

no drive likes to be full, HDD or SSD (technically apple drives are flash based)

But going over 75% full doesnt automagically make them Zip disc slow.

plenty fast -- rated faster thatn any 2.5" SSD -- Peak data rate: 763MB/s read and 446MB/s write

But Lew is right, 1/3 the thoughtput of a newer MBP -- 2015 rMBPs are getting 2000 MB/s read 1500MS/s write

At 3x the price of 2.5" SATA SSDs.

Why isn't there a PCI-SSD standard?

Because it's Apple.

And aren't the newer faster drives soldered to the logic board?

Not soldered, all Apple's drives (except maybe the MacBook?) are removable.
