Need Replacement for eyeTV HD - mjgkramer - 03-20-2016
My eyeTV HD unit failed and El Gato no longer markets them. I would appreciate suggestions for a replacement unit that is compatible with the eyeTV 3 application and can change channels on the satellite receiver with an IR signal.

If one of my EyeTVs failed I'd probably go to work trying to find an exact replacement. But I'm also interested to hear what current options there may be.

mattkime - good suggestion. However since this was the second eyeTV HD that has failed I am ready to try another make.

Open up EyeTV Preferences - under "Devices", select the pull-down menu and you'll see a list of supported, well, "Devices"...
(I acquired a Hauppage WinTV-HVR 950 as my replacement Device)

I got a Silicon Dust Extend.
It works with EyeTV3 software (as well as that software works), has two tuners, and they're more sensitive than the EyeTV tuners.

I have a WinTV HVR 950 for sale in the For Sale listings. It should work.
