Speaking of autos and lights - DeusxMac - 05-14-2016 Turn signals? Be honest! Re: Speaking of autos and lights - Racer X - 05-14-2016 Always, it is a GREAT habit to develop. Same thing with seatbelt latched before the car starts. I feel weird moving a car, even just backing off car ramps, without my belt on. Re: Speaking of autos and lights - jdc - 05-14-2016 Only when necessary = rarely Even my 9 year old wonders why the guy in front of us has his left turn signal on when they are already in the left turn lane. Re: Speaking of autos and lights - Uncle Wig - 05-14-2016 Odd - can't read messages without casting a vote? Is this a new feature? To read them, please cast your vote in the poll first. Seatbelts, yeah, no brainer. Blinkers? who cares? My kid is laughing at you. Re: Speaking of autos and lights - Grateful11 - 05-15-2016 Not using turn signals is a sign of either ignorance of the law, laziness or just don't give a $hit. I can't read people's minds, I'd really like to know what they're going to do. I use them when changing lanes, turning into side streets or drive, basically always. Re: Speaking of autos and lights - jdc - 05-15-2016 I think you are reading too much into this. Again, why signal when your intentions are clear? or when there is no one to signal too? Please tell me why I would want my left blinker on when Im already in the left turn lane. Or why I would want to signal when theres no one behind me for 1/2 a mile. If Im trying to squeeze inbetween cars at the last minute (which to me is a sign of not paying attention to where you are going = bigger red flag for me) then yea, Im gonna use my blinker. Re: Speaking of autos and lights - Grateful11 - 05-15-2016 Because I just do it, it's became natural after 40 years of driving. How would one know what your intentions are? I'm not a mindreader. Using a signal while in the left lane, so what it's my turn signal and I believe if it's the law in NC. When I took my first driver's test at 15 I was marked for not giving a signal while pulling out of the DMV parking lot. If you get out of the habit of using them then you have to start thinking while going down the highway, "well that person is such and such distance away I don't need to signal", I just use it, it's pretty simple to do. As far as putting too much thought into this I guess I could say the same back to you. I don't have to think about it it just comes natural. I consider it common courtesy. |
