Nikon software - safe to install? - roshi - 10-01-2006

I just bought a Nikon Coolpix S9, a tiny camera/video camera/digital audio recorder. It works great.

Right now, it mounts on the desktop as a drive, and iPhoto recognizes it and downloads the photos.

For the video and audio, I can just drag and drop from the mounted drive.

Does anyone know, is the software that comes with the camera horrible, or is it useful in any way?

Utterly horrible for Macs. Use as coaster.

In all my years of Nikon software and macs I have never had confidence in OEM software stability. Use Iphoto for thumbnail browsing and buy Pshop Elements.

thanks. You just saved me umpteen hours of grief-hair-tearing, and maybe, crashes.

I bought Photoshop elements awhile ago.
