Tamron 18-250mm zoom, 27-375mm equivalent on 35mm view - pRON aHOLIC - 10-01-2006 http://www.dpreview.com/articles/photokina2006/Tamron/ Gives you a field of view of 27-375mm equivalent if you were using a 35mm SLR. This lens for aps-c only. Not sure how sharp the telephoto end will be but this definitely stretches the all in one concept. Re: Tamron 18-250mm zoom, 27-375mm equivalent on 35mm view - Racer X - 10-01-2006 probably goes to crap beyond about 200. The old Tamron 28-300 film lens was all but useless beyond 200 for anything above a 4x6 print Re: Tamron 18-250mm zoom, 27-375mm equivalent on 35mm view - wowzer - 10-01-2006 I think the Sigma 18-200 OS has a chance of success. This tamron is dead in the waters...unless they come up with a miracle. The old Tamron 28-300 film lens was all but useless beyond 200 for anything above a 4x6 print That's the idea, sell the "bigger is better" idea though optically it may not be optimal just like pixel density going higher is not a good thing all the time. Re: Tamron 18-250mm zoom, 27-375mm equivalent on 35mm view - anonymouse1 - 10-01-2006 In my 35mm days, Sigma made optically good lenses that fell apart in a year or two. Re: Tamron 18-250mm zoom, 27-375mm equivalent on 35mm view - Racer X - 10-01-2006 maybe it was just you. Mine survive explosions periodically. Really. Depend on the lens, most of the newer ones and EX series are pretty decent. |
