Eric Clapton rethinks playing 'Cocaine' - JoeM - 10-03-2006

"Eric Clapton is playing "Cocaine" in concert again. ..."

Interesting - as it was always held that the song, regardless of J.J Cale's intent, was an influence causing many to partake back in it's heyday.

If you wanna hang out youve got to take her out; cocaine.
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; cocaine.
She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine.

If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; cocaine.
When your day is done and you wanna run; cocaine.
She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine.

If your thing is gone and you wanna ride on; cocaine.
Dont forget this fact, you cant get it back; cocaine.
She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine.

She dont lie, she dont lie, she dont lie; cocaine.

Lame...
"Clapton's band shouts out "dirty cocaine" during the song."

Publicity stunt...
"His duet CD with Cale (Cocaine written by Cale), "The Road to Escondido," is scheduled for release Nov. 7."

I can't even guess how many men I have shot just to watch them die, and all because of a song.
