Opera Browser - grad - 10-06-2006 Tried to use Opera for the past 3 weeks. Tons of features and total custumization was sweet! Web pages seemed to render quite quickly! However, it ended up eating up a lot of time to set the browser up to my liking. Additionally, about 1 out of every 4 sites I have navigated to have artifacts, or do not load properly. This pretty much killed the deal for me. Not gonna shell out $ for Opera or use it... just gonna stick with Firefox and Safari. Oh well. Re: Opera Browser - silvarios - 10-06-2006 Opera is now free to use. No more embedded ads. You can pay if you need support. While I am not posting from Opera at the moment, I use it most often when I have a choice of browsers. I only seem to have trouble on 2% of the sites I visit. Unlike your 25% which may because the sites you are visiting are ajax heavy. Configuring Opera does take a while to get things just right. Still, that was half the fun for me. It's not like I tweaked Opera non stop until I found the perfect setup. Instead, I use a slowly evolving process, where every few months I tweaks things for a slightly better layout. I'm sorry Opera was not quite to your liking, but I'm happy you gave it a shot anyway. Thanks. Nathan Re: Opera Browser - spearmint - 10-06-2006 Opera is okay for me except for favorites bar. Firefox is getting snarly with nearly daily force quits with the endless spinning beachball. Re: Opera Browser - WillyB - 10-07-2006 I love that Opera! It's the only browser that I found that worked with USPS click 'n ship. |
