This mirrors a very typical scene in Chicago alleys all over the city..and I've seen worse here, for sure..

Cable companions are the culprits..sorry.not companie'S'...Comcast, almost exclusively, is responsible...Bunch of hacks who, as a utility lineman once said to me about this exact topic......I pointed to a huge rat's nest of wiring up on a pole and said.."this must drive you guys nuts"...and he replied, "yeah, Comcast doesn't show much regard for anyone. And no matter how much we complain it gets worse and worse."

and it so it beeeez..

There is an easy fix for that. Contact your government representatives and ask them to pass a law aimed at requiring utilities to clean up unsightly poles or replace them.

And yet Verizon and other wireless companies continue to drag their feet in building capacity and lowering prices to compete with ScumCrap.

Before multiplexing was implemented in the POTS you would see single pairs for every phone.
