Just looking for opinions? $200 for 4 toner cartridges versus $100 for generic.

Well, in my opinion, there are a few variables involved here. What are you using the printer for and how important is the best quality of the prints. I would look at the amount of sheets each are rated for. I would look at the reviews for the generic. Having said this, I tend to buy the inks and toner from the manufacturer.
