Jerry Sandusky's son facing child sex abuse charges - cbelt3 - 02-13-2017 Abuse is often perpetuated. High odds he was abused, potentially by his father. One more reason why it's critical to catch these despicable people as early as possible. The chain of victims they leave is unbelievable. Re: Like father like son... The rate of victims becoming abusers in the future could probably be reduced with appropriate counseling, but it is often not available or only given for a limited amount of time. Personal experience, an acquaintance I knew about 25 years ago through my ex was abused as a child by a foster parent. That abuser did end up in prison in another state. I know this person got limited counseling for the abuse. Recently became aware he was in prison and looked up the reason. He had been sentenced to 20+ years for abusing a young child and conspiring with his partner to abuse an even younger child. Re: Like father like son... And stopping the father 20 or 30 years ago was too late to save the son. Re: Like father like son... Yeah, I'm sure it was tough, compared to what Sandusky's victims endured, FFS. I skipped the Rose Bowl due to Penn State involvement. Your description makes my eyes roll also. It must be so hard to be athletically gifted and play football at the NCAA level when people ask you tough questions about greedy former coaches. |
