Yes. He is a local fave here in KC. Maybe they'll finally let him into the MLB Hall of Fame now. They owe it to him for all he's done for baseball.

I like that he saw Babe Ruth hit home runs and Roger Clemens pitch.

DAYUM! For many years in the 60's and 70's Buck came to my hometown in KS and gave us little leaguers a one day training camp. Lots of great stories, lessons and examples of what it means to be a sportsman.

Something that seems to be lost on most athletes anymore.

A gifted athlete, a man with consumate class...would that athletes in all sports had his style.

A shame that people with far less talent and class were able to deny him a just reward in regards to the Hall of fFame.

Would be fitting if EVERY team in major league baseball would honor his memory in the season next year (hey BUD, I bought a car years ago from Selig Ford, I will forgive you if you start the honors rolling for this fine individual.)

I learned about him through his participation in Ken Burns' PBS series.

He experienced some great stories. And he was a great story teller. He was able to use these gifts to bring sunshine on the history of the Negro Leagues.

Not only did he illuminate Buck O'Neil's proper place in baseball history. He brought many diserving players with him.

I hope he's enjoying playing with Babe and Ted and Satchel and Josh and all the guys.

He was on the Jim Rome sports talk show a few times and told some great stories of the struggles of racial barriers and overcoming with class and dignity in baseball. R.I.P.
