I'd like to see our local LEOs watch this. I was following one in my small town the other day and he just jammed on the brakes and turned into the post office without using his turn signal. Re: State trooper demonstrates new advancement in car safety. - Speedy - 03-02-2017 I love it! However, like Rick-o, I hope LEOs see this video. I ran into the rear of a sheriff about 20 years ago. I was traveling on the interstate in the right lane and began to overtake a marked sheriff's car in my lane. The road was snow covered and slippery so we were both going well under the speed limit. I signaled and changed into the left lane. As I got close to him, he suddenly changed lanes into my lane right in front of me (no signal and no emergency lights) and immediately braked hard. He was going to do a U-turn across the median. I did not have enough time to move back into the right lane or to stop and so I hit him. His vehicle had no damage but mine was pretty crumpled. I was given an inattentive driving citation (which was dismissed after a year of no same or similar offense) even though I was as attentive as could be. My insurance company wouldn't fight my claim for me because the adjuster said they might have to deal with officers from this law enforcement agent regularly whereas my collision was a one-off and they didn't want to get on the bad side of law enforcement.
