Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - cbelt3 - 03-02-2017 After almost getting run off the road this morning by a moron driving a company truck and hammering away on his phone, I wonder how the phorumites behave ? Try to be honest here, none of us are perfect (well, OWC Larry maybe..). Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - Lew Zealand - 03-02-2017 I cannot multitask, so NEVER. Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - davemchine - 03-02-2017 My wife bought a Pioneer stereo for my car that has AppleCarplay. It's great. Hands free. Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - mattkime - 03-02-2017 About a week ago I was riding my bike (in a designated bike lane) next to a car that was swerving a bit and i noticed a glowing object in his hand and his eyes were much lower than the windshield. I knocked on his window and told him to put his phone down. About five seconds later he continued driving while looking at his phone. Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - jdc - 03-02-2017 Car has bluetooth, pickup everytime. calling/texting is against the law in CA, not that anyone seems to care. Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - GuyGene - 03-02-2017 Be careful! Just yesterday at a crossroads that I hardly ever go through and I thought was 4 way stop, I almost pulled out in front of an oncoming car!! ![]() Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - nwyaker - 03-02-2017 These days, I wait a bit even on a change to green at stoplight and back off any car moving erratically. Re: Nosy Thursday Poll: Driving and Cell Phones ? - Octave Doctor - 03-02-2017 If I get a call, it's easier for me to pull off the road and call them back. Or ignore them, as the case may be. I use my car's BT system but only when I'm either at a stop or on the open highway with little traffic. If people call me at other times and the phone picks up I tell them to wait a minute while I pull over. I really can't understand why the majority of people don't have dash or vent mounts for their phones. They are cheap and much more convenient/safer than having a phone floating free. The magnetic ones are especially good. They also put the phone in the ideal position so that you can see Waze or whatever nav app you use. It makes no sense at all to not have one.
