Two families sharing one account, shopping there more than enough covers the fee with the executive account, credit card cash back is a bonus. We've come back ahead. Use the credit card instead of our bank card and pay it off at the end of the month. Win win.

We dont spend as much as we used to, but we always seem to break even or only pay under $20 for our Executive.

Is family sharing a real thing, or just something you do?

Costco inadvertently gave me my 2016 member for free, so I'm ahead of the game for the next eleven years, assuming rates don't raise again.

between the 2% on Costco, the 4% on gas, and the 3% on restaurants, we more than come out ahead.

Of course, the wife is addicted to Costco, and will go there on Saturday morning for a single item. It's madness I tell ya.

jdc, when I signed up I wasn't married ( 10 years ago) so I signed up my sister and myself. My sister and I share an account that I pay for. Her family shops at Costco and so does mine. So thats how it works. My wife doesn't have a card and she is ok with that since she doesn't really like going there without me anyways.

....know other families who do the same......you are allowed two cards, so can be shared with extended family....

Oh yeah. My mom in Arizona has my second card. Different last name to.

My understanding is that Costco no longer allows non-immediate family members (i.e. family members with different addresses) to share memberships. That's what our HR department told us last year when it was time to renew Costco memberships through my employer.
