Lunch dilemma - elmo3 - 10-09-2006 Wendy's sells a single with cheese for almost two dollars. But then there's this Double Stack thing they sell. It's just like the Big Mac: "two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun". This sandwich is only $1.29 (previously 99 cents). The beef patties are the smaller 2 ounce ones, but with two of them it's the same portion as a single with a 4 ounce patty. And, of course, it has cheese. So essentially, a Double Stack is a single with cheese--but they market it differently and they price it lower. Wendy's also has their long-time standard "have it your way" service philosophy, where you can build your burger any way you want. Question: is it immoral or unethical to want a single with cheese, ketchup, pickle, onion, lettuce, and tomato--but actually to order the cheaper Double Stack and ask them to hold the special sauce but put ketchup on instead and add tomato? Oh, man, this marketing world we live in! It's too confusing to know what to do! Re: Lunch dilemma - mattkime - 10-09-2006 Its unethical to even ask! Re: Lunch dilemma - $tevie - 10-09-2006 "Have It Your Way" is the Burger King slogan. So the question is moot! That is if you want to be Fatty McFat Fat! That's what I usually get sans frosty. ![]() Re: Lunch dilemma - spearmint - 10-09-2006 Wendys 'Chicken they clain it is undulatrd and of course tasty. Why would they lie? Re: Lunch dilemma - GGD - 10-09-2006 Ask them if they have a "refurbished" or "refreshed" single with cheese that they would sell you for $1.29. Re: Lunch dilemma - spearmint - 10-09-2006 Take your USB scale and find out the truth in those patties. You'lll, have to buy both or snap one off some one's tray.. Hey it's research! Re: Lunch dilemma - ArtP - 10-09-2006 Depends on how smart the worker taking the order is. If there is no key for it on the touch screen register it will be done wrong. I called a local restaurant last night for carryout for a late dinner. They usually have a weekend special. The special last night was Whiting or Perch Sandwiches - Buy One Get One Free, which they announce when they answer the phone... HER: Hello, Thank you for calling Uptown, this is Shaniqua, Our Special is Whiting or Perch Sandwiches - Buy One Get One Free... ME: Hey, I'll try the Whiting Sandwich, HER: (Immediately) I'm sorry we are out of Whiting. So I order a Chicken Dinner. Okay, I could understand IF they just RAN OUT.... But I call back a few minutes later to confirm/add something on my order... Hello, Thank you for calling Uptown, this is Shaniqua, Our Special is Whiting or Perch Sandwiches - Buy One Get One Free... I wanted to say you stupid B!TCH, if you are out of Whiting then WHY the FSCK are you still promoting it as a SPECIAL! Would it be so difficult to say "Our Special tonight is Perch Sandwich - Buy One Get One Free? I just left it alone for fear that something may happen to my food. Stupid.... Re: Lunch dilemma - spearmint - 10-09-2006 What's a whiting? We used to throw perch back. |
