Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - Jerry® - 03-27-2017 I print 8x10 art prints at home using a thick watercolor rag paper and I've always used Canon printers. I'd like to be able to print up to 11x17 but Canon doesn’t offer much for under $200 - but Epson does. I personally do not like HP and the last Epson I had was riddled with problems (but that was 10 years ago). So, just wanting to get some feedback on your favorite brands in terms of build quality, print results, reliability, bang for your buck, etc. Re: Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - Robert M - 03-27-2017 Jerry, I hate to say this but your poll isn't going to help you. 11" x 17" color all-in-ones are few and far between. That makes your options limited at best. And, the results of the poll are going to reflect more common consumer oriented models. The machine you're in the market for doesn't fall within that classification. At this point, brand is secondary to see what's out there. You need to see what machines are appropriate for your usage and then check out the professional reviews of them. It could be an HP. It could be a Canon or an Epson. For your purposes, the most appropriate machine for the job may not actually be an all-in-one. You may be better off with a dedicated printer. Robert Re: Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - GuyGene - 03-27-2017 I voted Brother because I thought you meant black. Otherwise, I think old Robert might be the printer guru here. Re: Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - Ombligo - 03-27-2017 You can have good photo output or AIO, but not really both. For Photo output (not AIO) at that price range: Canon Pixma iP8720 - $215 Canon Pixma iX6820 - $110 The iX6820 is a step down from the 8720, but it is a small step and at half the cost. My suggestion is to try that one and if it is acceptable, buy a second B/W laser AIO such as the Canon imageCLASS MF247dw for $130 or Canon imageCLASS D530 @ $100 Re: Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - jdc - 03-27-2017 what about ink costs? Im might be inclined to say a used Epson R1800. Excellent generic inks and even CIS systems for them. Under $200. Or if its more than a hobby, maybe a used R2400. Amazing color and print. Also good generics and CIS avaialbe. Woah. $110 shipped from Amazon (no tax, NYC) I wasn't in the market for a color printer but that DOES LOOK GOOD. Re: Best brand all-in-one printer under $200? - GuyGene - 03-27-2017 Back to cost per page, how is that Canon? I have bought my MANY printers based on that mostly. All my ink jets haven't been very good, even my high dollar Canon MP something. |
