what is this iPhone icon? - space-time - 05-27-2017
I got this on my iPhone (see bottom left) and I don't know what it means. I usually see Pandora, Maps or other familiar App icons there, but I don't seem to have any App with this icon. I wiped up, the App (whatever it was) said "Connecting..." and I was in a spot with bad cell reception, so the App never did anything. I had to quit it. I am not sure what App did this, why, etc.

GameController...the phone thought you were trying to connect a bluetooth gamepad or that you were trying to setup the phone as a controller for a Mac or iPad.
