Q: anyone use Google Photos backup? - pqrst - 05-29-2017 Hi there And Happy Memorial Day to everyone and especially to anyone who served our country. I am thinking of using Google Photo Backup to off-load my Photos collection. I've got a lot of images (10,000+) most of which are medium res (1-3 MB). And I was thinking of trying out Google for storing it. (1) when you do the google upload does it preserve your Photos database? (2) how does it handle duplicate images or identical images in different formats? I've got some raw files which have a matching jpeg. Thanks for any help and comments. Re: Q: anyone use Google Photos backup? - vision63 - 05-30-2017 OMG just do it. It's superb. But also consider Flickr.com. they have a terabyte waiting for you. So the upper limit on megapixel size is not a problem? I've got a bunch of large raw files.
