Microsoft Office for OS 9? - Mr Downtown - 01-11-2006 I give my older Macs to a local nonprofit, which does very simple office-type stuff with them. Needless to say, they're all still running OS 9. They'd like to purchase moderately recent copies of Word and Excel for these machines. TechSoup only distributes Office 2004. Am I right that this will not run on OS 9? Is there a source for older versions of Office?? Re: Microsoft Office for OS 9? - incognegro - 01-11-2006 you need office 2001. Re: Microsoft Office for OS 9? - spearmint - 01-11-2006 Microsoft 2001 will work. I cannot promise when I could ship it but I have a copy to donate. PM me. Re: Microsoft Office for OS 9? - MacMagus - 01-11-2006 Office 2001 was a POC. Office 98 was much more stable. Re: Microsoft Office for OS 9? - roshi - 01-12-2006 Why get "recent"? Word 5.1, circa 1994 or something, was universally regarded as the best release ever. It is still a phenomenal word processor. I agree with Magus - go for copies of office 98. as i recall, it was good. |
